Pan Am IBJJF 2017

The IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation) Pan Am Championship kicked off on March 15, until Sunday, May 19, 2017.

Once again the BTT (Brazilian Top Team) competition team went strong with athletes from various schools and had very good results.

Mexico City Open IBJJF 2017

It is no news the growth of Brazilian jiu-jitsu throughout the world, the IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation) hosted its first championship in Mexico City this past weekend.

The Mexico City Open IBJJF championship was held at the Centro Nacional de Alto Rendimiento and had the Gi and No-Gi divisions.

Athletes from different countries represented dozens of schools and the Brazilian Top Team Competition Team had 4 guys that did an incredible performance: 6 gold medals, 1 silver, and 1 bronze, that’s 58 points (GI and No-Gi) for the team with only 4 competitors.

So, congratulations to Edgar Onyeagu (double GI and No-Gi division, bronze absolute No-Gi), Frank Cova (gold Gi, silver No-Gi), Mark Bunkley (gold No-Gi) and Pedro Torres (double gold No-Gi division and absolute).

Brazilian Top Team wins IBJJF Long Beach Open 2016

On December 11, 2016, the IBJJF came to Long Beach and Brazilian Top Team was waiting to once again claim the team victory in the Long Beach Open.

Master Marcelo Perdomo led a focused team to domination against the many school conglomerates of Gracie Barra, Atos, Checkmate and others to once again prove BTT is the pound for pound best school for BJJ in Southern California.

Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu in Rio de Janeiro

Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu in Rio de JaneiroThe UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation hosted the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu Jitsu in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The event had hundreds of high-level athletes from all over the world.

BTT had two golds in the black belt division, Alexandre Cavaliere won the Gi 77kg division, while Alexandre Viera won the No-Gi 66 kg.

Great result by two of ours great athletes.

Brazilian Top Team at Fight to Win 15

Brazilian Top Team at Fight to Win 15Fight to Win Tournament hosted its 15th edition in San Antonio Texas.

Fight to Win is a super fight tournament and Brazilian Top Team competition team had 5 athletes competing and 4 victories, incredible performance.

Linda Gutierrez (purple belt) defeated Rebecca vary via armbar, Matt Jones (purple belt) defeated David Shelley by decision. Ben Leny (brown belt) win over Osni Filho via armbar and got the Fight of the Night status.

The Leader of Brazilian Top Team San Antonio, Prof. Diego Gamonal stepped on the mat as well and won his match against Tony Erard via decision.

BTT Competition Team at San Antonio International Open Jiu-Jitsu

BTT Competition Team at San Antonio International Open Jiu-JitsuSt. Mary’s University in Texas, hosted the 2016 San Antonio International Open Jiu-Jitsu IBJJF – International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation April 23rd and 24th.

BTT Competition Team had athletes from all schools in Texas: BTT Plano, BTT Austin, BTT Angleton, BTT San Antonio and BTT Humble.

BTT Competition Team came together at the 2016 Boston Spring Open

2016 Boston Spring OpenBrazilian Top Team Competition Team had an incredible performance at the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu 2016 Boston Spring Open.

Organized by the IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Federation), the 2016 Boston Spring Open was held at University of Massachusetts Boston (UMass Boston) Athletics last Saturday, April 16th and brought the BJJ’s elite to Massachusetts.

BTT Competition Team earned an amazing result with only 28 athletes under BTT Boston’s Head Instructor, Daniel Gazoni, finishing in 4th place overall.

Brazilian Top Team Competition Team conquered several gold medals from white to black belt demonstrating a good display of brazilian jiu jitsu.

BTT presence in the 2016 Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championship

BTT presence in the 2016 Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championship Prof. Diego GamonalThe 2016 Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championship is the second most important event of the IBJJF calendar and the competition team of Brazilian Top Team had more than 50 athletes from various schools.

The BTT athletes were present at 2016 Pan American Championship by IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation) that was held between the 17th and the 20th of March 2016, at the University of Irvine, California, United States.

All that came right after the Brazilian Top Team members earned a great result at the Houston International Open Jiu-Jitsu, last month.

BTT earn great result at the Houston International Open Jiu-Jitsu

BTT earn great result at the Houston International Open Jiu-JitsuSt. Thomas University Jerabeck Activity and Athletic Center hosted the 6th edition of the Houston International Open Jiu-Jitsu IBJJF Championship 2016 this past weekend.

It’s not a secret anymore the growth of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the big state of Texas. All the “big” academies have schools there and the IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation) has been hosting tournaments there since 2010.

Our competition team had members of all BTT schools in Texas, BTT San Antonio (Prof. Diego Gamonal) , BTT Plano (Prof. Leonardo Machado), BTT Austin (Prof. Ruy Frade), BTT Angleton (Instructor Fernando Halfed and Head Coach Diego Gamonal) and from BTT Jacksonville, Florida with Prof. Marcelo Salazar.

The result was lots of medals and 2nd place overall to Brazilian Top Team, great achievement and the prove that united we are stronger.

BTT schools get together for the Austin International Open 2015

BTT schools get together for the Austin International Open 2015The 2015 IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation) Austin International Open took place on September 26th at the Round Rock Sports Center in Austin, Texas.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is growing everywhere but the state of Texas has increased the amount of tough black belts and schools. All the main academies have representatives on the lone star state.

Brazilian Top Team has 3 schools, BTT Plano Prof. Leonardo Machado, BTT San Antonio Prof. Diego Gamonal and BTT Austin, Prof, Ruy Frade.

The competition team did an awesome job with 35 athletes and got the 5th place overall.

BTT is up and coming in Texas and will go head to head with all academies.

Great job everybody.
